Harvested from the branches of Acacia trees, Acacia Gum Gum Arabic is a naturally formed, translucent solid, pale to light brown, with a molecular weight between 220k and 300k. Odor- and flavor-free, it’s combustible. Dissolves gradually in water to form an acidic thick solution (≈50% solubility wet), but does not dissolve in ethanol. This ancient gum—dating back 5,000 years to Egypt—remains a staple food additive today. Completely safe with no quantity limit, “desert gold” is a trusted ingredient in drinks, baked goods, dairy, and health products. It stabilizes, emulsifies, and boosts fiber intake.
